PORCH LIGHT SESSIONS : Thurs 12 July

This month we very excited to have our founder LEROY LEE returning to perform at the event he invented! The stage will also be graced by the fantastic JULIA JOHNSON and everybody’s favourite bar-person CARL MANWARRING.

LEROY LEE :
Enchanting songsmith and acoustic guitarist, Leroy Lee creates hypnotic lamp-lit tunes, drawing the listener into his unique world. From driving guitar riffs to intricate finger-picking melodies, Leroy is reminiscent of English folk legends like Nick Drake and Bert Jansch. Intricate melodic textures, surprising turns of phrase and sonicly rich guitar landscapes lead us on an intimate journey of surprise and intrigue.

JULIA JOHNSON :

With a menagerie of traditional folk instruments surrounding her on stage, Julia offers a selection of new songs, written in a burst of inspiration this year. Last year Julia released her debut solo single ‘Melissa’ and toured it nationally, also supporting Abbe May and performing in a season at Melbourne Fringe Festival. Julia will soon release another new track, produced by Sarah Belkner.

CARL MANWARRING :
Carl is such a terrific fellow. You may know him as the quietly-spoken and diligent man behind the bar at the PBC. But he has another identity with an acoustic guitar and a voice reminiscent of Cash, Cave, Waits; his songs inspired by Young, Springsteen, and the alt-country greats. We are very excited that he will take the stage for Porch Light Sessions this month.
