Three ethereal alt folk songwriters are singing to raise funds for local charity The Rough Period. Julia, Brendon and Hollie will transport you in to their shimmering sonic worlds for a special evening of musical warmth and generosity. Downstairs at the PBC will be transformed into a luscious, rose-clad grotto for this intimate evening, with 50% of funds going to The Rough Period, who deliver the dignity of sanitary items to those who are sleeping rough in our community.
Julia Johnson
Her voice has been compared to Florence Welch, Joni Mitchell and even a ‘treacherous mountain river’. An awarded songwriter, Johnson’s songs evoke striking echoes of love and loss, at once ruthlessly intimate, and universal. On stage, Johnson’s warm presence and unpredictable banter usher you in to her folk-tinged musical universe, where she brandishes traditional folk instruments with exceptional and unusual technique.
Julia is a TripleJ Unearthed awarded songwriter who has supported iconic Australian artists including Courtney Barnett, Tim Rogers, Jen Cloher, Bob Evans, and Pete Murray as well as performing at folk and contemporary music festivals such as National Folk Festival and Groovin The Moo.

Brendon Moon
Prepare to enter a wondrous dream state. Originally hailing from the picturesque Whitsundays, singer-songwriter Brendon Moon relocated to Sydney in 2012 in order to pursue his burgeoning musical career. His determination towards aural uniqueness has led him to develop a sound that is both delicate and powerfully alluring. Moon’s one-of-a-kind stage presence and lush guitar tones are nothing short of exquisite.
The artist’s latest single ‘Patience’ is the fruit of his passionate labour. Between its floating, androgynous vocals, meandering melodies and varied instrumental arrangements, the track typifies Moon’s captivating musical style.
